Anthropologists study human beings from every time period, in every way possible, in all their complexities. The Department of Anthropology at SUST has the promise and potential to contribute nationally and internationally to perceive and promote anthropological knowledge. This Department thrives to attain scholarly excellence and leadership in the discipline, which reflects Department’s longstanding commitment to training students by offering rigorous courses and in organizing seminars, workshops, and conferences and by engaging in serious investigation of the material and imaginary forms of socio-cultural experiences. Our motivation is to engage our students and peer groups toward a better understanding of the world, a world in which the articulation of local cultural forms and identities with global processes is increasingly getting complicated and consequential.
